Epson ds860 vs epson 400

HI I just bought used an espon ds860 for $75 and it doesn’t feed the paper and keeps jamming. I brought it somewhere and its gonna be a total of $360 to repair it. It scans 65 ppm. Or should I just buy an epson 400 which scans 35 ppm for $249.00. Do i really need a scanner that scans 65 ppm. How long do scanners usually last?

Brand new sounds like the way to go. Things wear out on these machines. I have an Epson that I changed parts out and it worked. Ultimately, if anyone knows a better unit from another company I’m all ears.

Do yourself a favor and get a Brother. I have a MFC-L5850. It prints 42 ppm and scans very fast. Cartridges cost $169 from Office Depot but you can get them from Ebay for $15-$20 at they last 5k-8k pages.
