Highlight pertinent details

Is it generally “acceptable” to highlight loan document details that you wish to go over with the borrower, so you don’t forget any pertinent details?

On the originals that are being signed and returned - NO; you could possibly highlight the “pertinent details” on their copy; I wouldn’t do it - if you highlight their copy then have to use it as a replacement because they, or you, make a mistake - well, it could cause problems. Besides, who decides what’s pertinent - unless you have a very strong mortgage background, it’s not up to the notary to decide what’s pertinent in the docs.
