I am new to doing loan signings and have only worked with signing companies. I am trying to branch out and work directly with title companies but they keep asking for fee chart. I am clueless on what to charge in Cuyahoga and surrounding counties…PLEASE HELP!!!
It takes some work, but, once you’ve done it, it’s good forever. They usually want your fees stated BY COUNTY
(sometimes zip code). So, you need to figure out your travel cost to everywhere you’re willing to go. Then add that amount PLUS value of your TIME traveling to whatever your base fee is for various types of loans PLUS the variables (lg. pkg., faxbacks, etc.) As traveling 1 mile away would still be the same fee as if you traveled to the furthest point in any county, so you do have to ‘not quite average, but to the highest side’. No, it isn’t easy, but if you use a spreadsheet, it’s easy to adjust as costs go higher (they never seem to go lower).
