Initialing Deed of Trust and Note in Texas

On the Deed of Trust and Note, there are spaces for initials, but they are in the footer and not the body of the document. Am I supposed to have the borrowers initial here? Normally, when initials are required, the spaces for initials appear in the body of the document, not in the footer with the TX form number and bar code. Can anyone in Texas help me out? Thanks!

Without seeing the document it sounds like the signer needs to initial. Pretty much every DOT that I’ve seen that required initials has had the initial lines at the bottom of each page the document. However, you need to ask the contracting company for verification to get the correct answer. It doesn’t matter what any of us think, it matters what the contracting company wants / requires.

If push comes to shove, having them initial won’t hurt and may save you a second trip. Check with the title co 1st if you can.
