My bad experience with Vylla Title. Beware

I just completed my first and it was a cluster… on their part. Are they just new and very inexperienced? First, they thought a no-cash out refi was a Texas A6 Cash out. The docs showed up at the very last minute and I had no time to review them. After I arrived and was just into the closing, they called and said the docs were wrong and we had to reschedule. Two days later, I went back with new docs and completed the closing. They added a $60 trip and print fee to the $110 they originally offered. The next day, I got a call from WT. He said they had forgotten a document that also needed to be signed and would I go back out there? He said he would pay me $70 to do that. I waited all afternoon for the doc that NEVER came. I missed several other opportunities because of this wait. Today, I got a phone call from TH. She asked if I went out and got the document signed and when I told her I never got the doc, she simply said “oh, it must have gotten assigned to someone else.” Shortly afterwards, I got a text that was sent automatically because there was a change to the file. I went in and looked, and the fee had been reduced from $170.00 total to $110.00! I called LN, the closing specialist who had negotiated the $170.00 fee. I gave her the names of the others involved and she straightened out the fee. The confirmation is back to showing the correct amount of $170.00 for this signing. The lack of professionalism shown by both WT and TH in this episode id disappointing. I hope they work things out, and I hope I get paid.

I worked with them 2 days ago for the first time. To your point, they did seem a bit unorganized. They scheduled a signing at the last minute but didn’t have docs available, which resulted in having to reschedule for another day and the docs being redrawn. This is sometimes an issue with coordination between the lender and title company. Anyway, While I was at the signing, they called and asked me to do scan-backs in addition to shipping the docs but was willing to pay the increase in fees. They seemed very polite. I hope I don’t have any issues with getting paid.

Vylla is not new to the market. They used to be carrington title. As for being disorganized, I do not agree with you. They are one of the better agencies that have no problem paying $$$ and pay on time. In your case, I would have called if I did not receive the documents and asked them if they forgot to send them. It is all about communication both ways.

I stopped working with them and blocked them from being able to send me assignment requests very recently. I spent over 4 hours at a closing because the numbers were incorrect on the CD and the signers didn’t want to sign until the CD and Settlement Statements were corrected (in real time). They had me waiting for over 2 hours in the lobby. All the while, I’m sending messages to Vylla Title via Snapdocs, and am continuously calling with wait times on hold for 30+ minutes to actually speak to someone. Once I was finally connected to someone and explained the situation, the best that could be done was to pass a message on to the person who was overseeing the closing. No one ever called me back after my having called several times and left several messages. After several issues at the closing table, my trying relentlessly to speak to someone, and having posted ~ 8 comments via Snapdocs as to what was going on, after 4 hours. we finally finished. I continuously posted in Snapdocs that I wanted consideration on my fee given the 4 hours I was with the signers and missed opportunities for other closings that afternoon. No response. I finally was able to speak to the person (I won’t put her on blast in here), and she relayed that she never received any messages or any emails from Snapdocs. I find that very hard to believe. She claimed to have spoken with the signer several times during the closing, so why didn’t she think to contact the Notary who had been sitting with the signers for several hours? As well, she claimed to not have the authority to increase my fee and said that she would follow up with me about it. I NEVER heard anything back, no follow up, nothing. I refuse to do business with or to be of service to anyone or any entity who doesn’t respect my time and efforts. I can deal with mistakes; we all make them, but blatant lies and inconsideration, I won’t do it.

LOVE this company. They pay most than many and pay within a reasonable time. I have done at least 5 of their closing and have not had any issues.

If I would stop working for a company after one bad/not so good experience I would never work. Was it at the end of the month, you know they work long hours and are extremely busy. Why not call them direct, you know that SD takes longer. If they did call back the borrower, you could have asked to speak to them as well. It is not that they did not react, only not directly with you. Being flexible is part of the requirements.
