No First Name Given

Clients ID in FN: NONAMEGIVEN
Documents: FNU

Have you seen this before?

Can’t say I have. A smart hiring party will give you the full-name-as-shown-on-docs of all signers; most aren’t that smart.

I can’t understand all your abbreviations. Please explain in plain English.

Guessing… FN = Full Name; FNU = Full Name Unknown.

I’m with Ashton - I don’t understand the post at all

There are some country’s that do not give women a first name. So when they come here to the USA on their passport, ID, or DL has the abbreviation FNU. Which stands for First Name Unknown. I have run unto three signing with this abbreviation, so I notarize the signer with just their last name. I make sure that this was not going to be a problem. It is just new for us.

Yes, I did a signing last week, a H+W. The wife was FNU.
