I am in the very early stages of becoming a notary. I’ve taken my required education and am registered for my exam.
I work in a hospital, and have been told that although the hospital carries E&O insurance many employees (none of them notaries) also carry personal liability insurance. My supervisor has encouraged me to look into personal liability insurance in addition to E&O and my surety bond.
Is it fairly common for notaries to carry personal liability insurance in addition to E&O? If so, how much do you typically carry?
