Website for your business? Challenges?

How many of you have a website for your notary services?

What are challenges you face with your website? Pros and cons are welcome! Let’s talk :sunny:

Had one for about 5-6 years and the cost of hosting and/or domain name kept increasing (you can get around that by moving it to a different host, if you’re a techy…I found it challenging). Fact is, I don’t think I ever got a job from my site, so dropped it… Loan signing work comes from being in many companies database or paid Directories (like this one). All of my General Notary Work comes from freebie sites like Yellow Pages, Yelp, etc. I will also admit that my site was very primitive.
It’s all about where you show up…when your site is on page 4 or 6 or more–nobody is going to find you.

I see. I’ve worked with many notary and signing companies who would say having a website is essential to any business. Proper functionality, User Interface, and design is key. A DIY website is not as effective. Hiring a professional website specialist and techie is definitely worth it.

Web hosting solutions specializes in Notary Sites. $30 a month. I get a ton of calls for private work from my site. A business without a website is a sign of a business without a buainess,

It’s going to vary… title co’s and other related businesses are more likely to look into established databases for NSAs before they look anywhere else. Individuals are more likely to hit Google and come across your website. Title and other co’s will search if you live in an area with few options or if they can’t find anyone in their circle.

I’ve had a website for years. Then again… notary is only one of the things I do. I simply added it the site. And yes… my site has driven notary business to my door. is it enough to have a whole site dedicated to notary work??? I think now

I have re-designed numerous times over the years when I am not satisfied with how it’s performing.

Try something like Wix if you want to test a site. It’s what I recommend to my IT clients who don’t want to meet my prices for site design (which can get costly).

Outside of that… hosting is no where as costly as it was. Holiday season is just about here… cyber Monday, black Friday etc will see annual hosting plans for literal pennies on the dollar if history repeats. I have setup tons of client web hosting so they can renew at great discounted rates annually.
