Well, Florida came close but no cigar

The bill wending it’s way through the Florida legislature establishing guidelines and regulations for remote notarizations and webcam notarizations has been tabled - " Indefinitely postponed and withdrawn from consideration" - guess someone didn’t like something in it and got through to the rest of them (it was rather onerous with requirements of $1M E&O and record retention of 10 years).

Legislators using their heads! Imagine that! Good for whoever got thru to them.

I called my senator as my Rep was the sponsor of the bill. He’s up for re-election and I am helping his general opponent gather signatures. I oppose webcam but e-notary i am for.

I’m sure you know this but we already have e-notarization authority - Page 11 of the new handbook the SOS put out a year or two ago: https://www.flgov.com/wp-content/uploads/Notary_Reference_Manual_12.13.16.pdf
