Cancelation fee

Continuing the discussion from Does anyone charge a cancelation fee?:

No I don’t have a cancelation fee, however, If you find that cancellations tend to come from the same source. I would discontinue working with them, or come to an agreement of somekind. I believe most companies have a 2 hour rule, which is too short but better than nothing…

IF it’s a long drive, 2 hrs. no way works. Tho’ I’ve never had it happen, when it’s a long drive, I request docs ‘no later than…x hrs prior’…and, when they come in 3-4 (whatever I requested) hrs. before…yeah, I’m printing and if it cancels 2 hrs. before, you better believe they’re paying me a print fee. I also agree with ‘watch which co. is doing this’ and, if they are repeat-offenders, I would discontinue working with them (tho’ I’d try to come to some sort of cancellation agreement, I doubt they’d do it).
