Does any notary know of a phone app that can spot a fake ID?

@jennjoneis Yes, **BUT the accuracy varies . . .**

- Vemo: ID Scan
- VeriScan
- ID Scanner

**Utilizing a UV light** can be instrumental in assisting you to validate IDs, depending upon the technology your State inserts into the ID.

Also, there is an **ID Checking Guide** (paperback) that’s issued each year for about $30 that reveals what to check for & examples of IDs for each State.

There’s also an **International Version** that’s about $50.

Plus, there’s a “holy grail” =\> **US Identification Manual** for about $250

To check out the website for direct purchases, just Google “ID Checking Guide”

_OR, you can purchase it for the same price at the notary site that has a monopoly on the Background Screening Checks._

Thank you!! I will definately invest in something like that. There was a situation in which
I wasn’t sure but I want to have something to else to use. Miletek doesn’t always work properly.

@jennjoneis If you decide to just try out the UV light option for starters, you can purchase the “pen” for about $10 (_Amazon - see below_). You can utilize the light for IDs & cash as well as the pen for checking counterfeit bills. ✅

Yes, I also use a UV light. A plus with using these extra precautionary measures is the peace of mind it can give signers that you’re going the extra mile to prevent fraud.
