Not getting answers from Cloud Signings

I went to the first appointment and it turns out the signer was “maybe” told not to have his wife there, so I said “Let’s make sure since normally both people in the documents should be”. His side wouldn’t answer but Cloud Signings did and said his wife had to sign. Then came the trouble. He said “Sunday half way between my home town and this town would be fine. You have my number.” So I went home and looked up for a place to meet, messaged him about it. He said he’d get back to me and didn’t. Next day (Friday), I waited until late in the day and tried again, telling him I wanted to remind him closer to the end of his day for his convenience as I recognize he’s a busy person. He says thanks and he’ll get back to me. He doesn’t. It’s now Saturday and I need to know because we are supposed to meet the next day and he hasn’t said if the place is okay so we could set a time. I try calling this time and he’s at work, I apologize and he says he’ll get to me after work. Yet again, he does not. I send a text at a time that should have been an hour after he was home just saying “I hope you got home safe. Again I apologize for catching you at work.” No mention of the appointment, just reminding him of my existence because I do feel bad pestering him but I know these documents are important. He doesn’t respond. So I tell Cloud Signings. I end up having a back and forth chain with CS over and over and I’m sure with different people to get across that he is not answering me to set an appointment and I need to know what to do next. But they won’t answer me either and seem to be confused on the concept that he isn’t answering me. What do I do? Plus doesn’t CS owe me for the gas and paper of going to the first appointment?

Signers don’t tell you who needs to be present. You tell them.

You don’t arrange a re-sign after your scheduled appointment fails to happen. You contact the service that hired them and tell them what happened and you don’t arrange anything on your own.

If the documents are date sensitive - and refinance usually is - you already blew the deal. Cloud Signings? Read some threads pertaining to Cloud Signing. Chances are if you did not speak to them when the first appointment went South - you could be out of luck.

Sorry that’s the nightmare that kicked things off for you.

I told them during the original appointment time and their response was “Ok thanks for the update” Their responses were always short and occasionally horrible English via email. I could not get them on the phone as their number always referred you to their email.

After the first trip I’d have invoiced for the full fee. I wouldn’t have worried about a re-scheduling.

Could I still send an invoice? Or is that out of the question now?

I would send it. I would put “signer no show/cancel” on the invoice. Cloud has a reputation for slow pay or no pay for jobs that are completed so I have no idea what will happen. When things like that happen, I call from the table and try and speak to someone before leaving. Because that guy knew full well his wife had to sign.

Cloud signings is really not a reliable company, they pay 60 days and usually offer low fees, I did 1 order for them luckily it was local but waiting 60 days is like waiting 90 it’s not worth it. But if your client wasn’t being cooperative then you need to let Cloud Signings know and let them deal with it. They are extremely hard to contact they have a poor CS avoid them.

Don’t take any signings from cloud, they either pay after 60 days or not at all. You have to email at least 3 invoices for payment, call even though it goes to vm threaten to report them to title company, its a one person operation.

Are appointments set up witht h client? It has been my experience the company sets up the appointments. this is how you get paid for each trip. No wife signing would have been my clue. Called the company in front of client that wife was not available for signing plese reschedule and left

When you call cloud, their automation literally tells you to e-mail them or text. Then it hangs up. They don’t want you calling or talking to anyone like that. And when they were finally answering over e-mail the person didn’t even type proper English or full sentences, with typos. It was frustrating and led to a bad situation all around.
