I am currently commissioned in the state of PA, but I also want to be commissioned in state of NY I have received like 3 signings that that are NY and they all like an hour or less far from me each one was a very high fee that I could have done but couldn’t , so my question is, is it possible, am I allowed to have 2 notary commission in different states, if so how can I get a NY commission if I live in PA?

New York requires that you have a residence or place of business in the state to be a NY Notary.

PA does too

I don’t know about PA but New Jersey and New York require that you live and/or work in both states in order to be licensed in both states, while being a resident in one of them. NJ doesn’t even allow border state notarizations… meaning I leave 10 minutes away from Staten Island, which is part of NY, and I can’t cross the bridge to do notarizations (regardless I’m always offered, because many NJ notaries work in NY and have applied and been authorized for a NY commission) … am I making myself clear?
