Hi I submitted and was approved for my NY RON commission license 2/3/23. It replaces my existing commission. The new commission is for both traditional and RON. You must sign up for a RON platform and then submit a exemplar document for review & approval. This is usually provided for you through your RON platform. I used NOTORIZE. com The process has been slow and I’m still waiting for the exemplar approval. Last I heard it takes a month. Once approved I can use my RON software. Also, I found the NYS online knowledge base portal to be less then helpful, actually frustrating and missing detailed information on the correct process for Notaries to follow. Hopefully they have added relevant information since March 2023. Hope this was helpful.
Would you mind sharing some info on getting RON setup? I’m also in NY and got my RON commission -just lost getting started.
