Attention all notary publics and signing agents, please do not assist Lifetime Financials in Colorado. After four attempts to get paid for notary work, they did not respond. The person that contacted me was Daniel Alva. If they call you, block their number!
@noboundsnotary Thank You for sharing your direct experience with that business entity. Itâll be helpful to many Notary Cafe members!
By any chance, do you have additional contact data; i.e., phone #, address, etc.
Hello! Let me first say, I am an individual that hates controversy and conflict. I have taken several notary losses and used the experiences, but I have decided going forward to assist the notary community nationally by sharing information on experiences I have. In short, it isnât something I enjoy doing. The company representative that contacted me on November 13, 2024 was Dan Alva. His contact number is 515.526.5443. The name of the company is Lifetime Financials. Their address is 2590 Welton Street Ste. 200 PMB 1973, Denver, CO 80205. I was asked to assist a signer complete an agreement that had never seen. There was information he didnât have or couldnât remember. The signer had limited ability to read, so I had to read the documents to him. There was one document that I requested him to bring that the signer forgot to bring. We met at a McDonaldâs, so I had to follow him back to his home to get the required document. The representative required me purchase a FedEx label for return of the the documents as well as scans of the documents. I returned the scans and pictures required. I refused to mail Mr. Alva the originals until getting paid for the service because I have worked for two other companies completing multiple pictures and never heard from them again. I received an email from Mr. Alva stating that the scans were fine and to drop the originals. I explained to him before completing the assignment that my policy states that I must receive payment before sending the originals. Mr. Alva told me before completing the assignment that their payments go out the 1st and the 15th. The signing took place on the 14th and should have been paid on the 15th. After scanning in the FedEx label I purchased, Mr. Alva sent an email asking me on November 15th if I received payment. I had not. I sent a response stating that I did not receive payment, and I did not hear back from Mr. Alva. I believe I am done with working with faceless companies needing assistance. I hope this help. I wish each individual well in this notary world. Itâs not easy work, but it is rewarding.
@noboundsnotary â Sorry youâve not been paid and reimbursed.
First of all, NEVER pay for shipping. Ask hiring company to send you shipping label or give you their account number (preferably, they send shipping label).
Next, did they specify how theyâre paying you? Are they transferring via PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, etc. or are they mailing you a paper check or are they paying via e-check? Have you checked your âJunkâ email folder to see if thereâs a check there or a notification of payment?
Lastly, but very importantly, ALWAYS vet all companies contacting you for assignment. If theyâre not viable, donât entertain working with them. Remember, youâre extending credit. Are they worth it?
@noboundsnotary Just as a âgeneral ruleâ itâs probably best to add to your âCorporate Policyâ that the hiring party is ALWAYS responsible for the return label.
In my direct experience, the only hiring parties who ask for the independent contractor to pay for the return label ARENâT reputable organizations to work with . . .
NOTE: The only exceptions to that rule are for General Notary Work [GNW].
