Mortgage Connect low fees

Please don’t believe that “the signing company controls the notary fee paid to the notary,” We, as independent contractors and business owners, control our fee.

Did you all get this email? Apparently they are getting what they pay for. And SINCE WHEN is the NOTARY responsible for the content of the 1003? WTH? Here’s the email:

Dear Valued Partner:

As of 10/21/2024 when you login to Mortgage Connect and Townsgate Portals to download the closing package. You must acknowledge the below message to obtain permission to download the closing package.

Hello (Agent First Name),

Please ensure the below bullet points are addressed during the closing scheduled for (Scheduled date).

If there is any reason you or the borrower cannot meet these, please call our office 866-789-1814 and ask for the (Lender Name) Team.

  • Government Issued not expired ID
  • If applicable, Patriot Act form fully completed/executive by you as the Signing Agent, not the signer.
  • Funds Due will show on the last page of the ALTA and should always match the CDF. Funds must be collected at closing so please reach out to Mortgage Connect ASAP if the borrower did not provide a check or send a wire.
  • 1003 is fully completed
  • If Fax Backs are required, please send immediately after closing.

Their fees are INSULTING. I moved their email to my spam folder so that I don’t get these sad email offers but I still kept receiving them.
At the end I contacted their vendor management drpartment snd politely requested that my email be changed to a new one that never existed. Let the “ghosts” accept these $40 and $50 bucks.
Honestly, the notaries are responsible for this. These people started at $150 in avg in 2019. But with the market been over saturated with desperate notaries who can accept a dime I can’t blame them.
