New Signing Agent- Don't except low ball offers

Y’all keep in mind that your competitors that take the low ball offers are busy running around not making a profit, leaving you free to negotiate the better-paying deals where you can make a profit. It’s just another way to look at it without making yourself crazy.

That is exactly how I look at it. Notaries are responsible for their own fees. I grow weary of a victim mentality that says signing services are somehow insulting or taking advantage of notaries. No they aren’t. They’re just doing business. It’s never personal. There is no insult in any offer.

I do a minimum of $100 if it’s in my immediate area and it goes up from there depending the distance and if they need me to bring a witness. I also always counter offers that are low with my fees. Thankfully, I have a ‘main’ job and can be selective about the signings I pick up and the rates I’m willing to do.
