,Most of my clients dress like they intend on playing golf later, so I purchase most of my clothes in the pro shop down the street. Clean, casual, clean-shaven, and I take care of my teeth and fingernails because you can only make a first impression. It’s probably a real conundrum for women loan signers. How do you dress so as to not draw attention to yourself? I’ve heard stories but I digress, pantsuits?
This is one of those go with your gut situations. I live in rural mountains of PA. I always check out a location on Google maps before leaving the house. If its a rich looking home, dress pants it is. Realtors office is also dress pants. If im traveling Amish country its often jeans. Snowstorms is definitely jeans. I wouldnt bother with telling hiring party. They may frown upon it but the signers never do.
Jennifer, my wife, grew up in a little coal miner town southwest of Pittsburgh. I’ve been there many times. I think I would scare people if I showed up in a coat and tie, but you have to dress according to the weather. You just don’t wanna be a distraction, and the smell of cigarettes and cheap perfume would certainly distract me.
So true, especially on Fridays. LOL
Yes. Im just east of Pittsburgh. About an hour from the city. I just did a signing today that i almost went in jeans. I had gotten home from the grocery store about an hour before i had to leave for the signing. I realized the documents were sent wrong and title was on West Coast. I called the signer and told her that there may be a hold up. So by then Im tired and crabby, it was cold and rainy. I ended up with corrected documents in time and still had time to change into work clothes. Showed up and client was still in pajama pants and she didnt feel well. I should’ve just stayed the way I was. I may just stay in my jeanss tomorrow and a nicer top. Its a 10 minute loan mod in another rural area.
