I just received a text from this company about a paper signing. They sent this to me 3 times at price of $55.00, I kept responding my fee for a 2 hr round trip commute is $125.00 Then they finally said after I texted them "what do you consider an unsuccessful service. They responded with "Here’s how the payout works for this assignment: If the respondent is not available at the location and you’re unable to serve the papers, the attempt will be considered unsuccessful In that case, please take a photo of the main entrance and surrounding area and email it to us. You will be paid $55 for the unsuccessful attempt.
If the respondent is present and you are able to successfully serve the documents, the attempt will be considered successful, and you will be paid $125.
Nope, regardless if the client is there or not, I am still using 2 woman hours, its not my fault if they are not home! The Opal Group
@Executivenotarysolutions Concur Percent!
Thank you for sharing your direct experience & business decision process. Helpful!
.
@Executivenotarysolutions The term “serve” would generate additional questions, because this type of ‘presentation of documents’ can be physically risky . . .
.
Thank you for pointing this out to me/and all others!!! No I will not be doing any work for them. I read a few reviews that there are issues with being paid by them anyway.
@Executivenotarysolutions You’re very Welcome!
Again, appreciate you sharing your direct experience as this will be beneficial to nearly all Notary Cafe members.
.
I’ve worked for Opal a couple of times and spent more time trying to collect my payment than it took for the couple signings I did for them. We shouldn’t have to hound companies for payment of our service. I won’t work for them again.
Yes this is very true.
@DJUTNotary Absolutely!
I did a job for them and was promised payment in three days…it took over 6 weeks to get paid through a very complicated process…never again will I consider a job from them.
@DJUTNotary & @jwarrenevans Thank you
both for sharing your direct experience with this business entity.
Concur Percent with your business decision NOT to accept any further Signing Orders [SOs] from them.
Your posts are Helpful & nearly all Notary Cafe members will benefit as a result!
Thank you for sharing your experience with The Opal Group. “Women hours”? First time I’ve heard it put that way…LOL
A few decades ago the phraseology switched; i.e.,
Man Hours => Staff Hours
Manning =>> Staffing
Etc.
By the way, have you seen these in Construction Zones?
It’s very interesting how things change . . .
I have completed a signing for Opal group once. It took me months to get paid. Eventually, I got paid after sending multiple invoices, hounding them, and threatening to report them to the State of Florida.
They tried to offer me another job assignment a few
Months later. I asked for payment upfront this time.
Good to know. I recieved an E-mail from them asking if they could add me to their database. I said yes but haven’t taken any jobs yet, guess I won’t be. I’m already having one heck of a time with a company NN… Hate that these companies take advantage of us notaries.
