In my previous career, I was in the Navy where I served for 26 years; after my retirement in 2018, I went to work for the VA North Texas Healthcare System as the Patient Safety Manager for 1.5 years. I enjoyed the job and learned a lot but could not maintain a good work-life balance, which is why I made the leap and chose this profession.
