General Liability Insurance

As a mobile notary, should I have general liability insurance? This is a side gig and I will not have people coming to my home but my insurance agent said it is something to consider. Would appreciate feedback. Thank you.

Liability insurance is a part of the general insurance system of risk financing to protect the purchaser (the “insured”) from the risks of liabilities imposed by lawsuits and similar claims. It protects the insured in the event he or she is sued for claims that come within the coverage of the insurance policy.

Typically you have E&O insurance to cover this risk. Most larger company’s want you to have 100k in the notary signing line of business. A lot of people only have 25k. Best to pay the little extra to make sure you are covered.
