123Notary wait until you see what Jeremy did now

You won’t believe what Jeremy Belmont has done now in the states of Florida and California. He has writte a letter to the Secretary of State of each state telling them how incompetent we are as notaries and there should be more training and testing before we can become notaries.Read what he wrote http://blog.123notary.com/?p=19939 To the best of my knowledge Jeremy is not even a notary himself, Carmen in his office is. I don’t know how many more states he is going to send this letter to, but Jeremy is back to being his arrogant self. Your thoughts? I know there are new notary search site poping up, have you joined any? I have.

He blogged this on 5/1/2018 - do you know he really sent this to the SoS? And I don’t see Florida mentioned.

Wonder if he ever got a response from anyone or if the letter went into the circular “G” file.

Who listens to a guy who only has 16 facebook friends.

I was a notary in Florida and know Attorney General Pam Bondi so trust me when I say that we are trained. Notary Commissions are not just handed out, they are earned.

In reading this “letter” he wrote, shows what a crazy person he has become. In order to become a Notary (which, by the way is totally different than a signing agent and works on completely different documents and is not trained by the state of Florida as a Notary is), you have to be trained. In order to become a signing agent (at least for us who have done it a long time), you don’t. Beyond that, he says hire only those who have been in the mortgage, settlement and other businesses, as though their experience will assure success. Lastly, he says the state should check the IQ of all who want to be a notary! Oh, Brother! I say, check the IQs of all of those that want to start a Directory business online to assure they are not spreading craziness! Geez.

I’m a Florida notary - we have to take a 3-hour class for initial commissioning and that’s it - can be done online and it’s not that extensive a training format. And there’s no training requirement for renewal commissions. So my opinion as a current Florida notary is Florida is very lax and laid back about training notaries.

Yes Jeremy is arrogant, so he more than likely sent those letters. Today or was it yesterday he posted one about getting his Elite Certification. Why because notaries who were Elite Certified made $14 more per signing. Gheez, I wonder how he knows how much we make when selected off of his list. He also stated once you were Elite Certified the certification was for ever. I was Elite Certified years ago by him, but no longer it went away. Oh, its free to take his 5 hour course and take the test, which is not tested for your state but CA. He appears to want to compete with the NNA in being the expert, but comes off looking like a jerk with his comments about notaries as loan closers. Yes there is a problem with Notaries who think anyone can do a loan closing with no training. I get a lot of work from companies because those notaries have messed up on paperwork. On one hand I hate that, on the other hand, I get a call to bail them out and fix it and its urgent and last minute. Oh, an emergency on your part is not one on mine. I get to ding them well for being the fixer, it has its perks. Last night had to do two deeds to correct issues. Same company, same customer only 6 pages and two notarizations, but they were willing to pay $150 for both, waved fax-backs because they know my work and I got them dropped so they had them in the morning. Back to Jeremy I think he is losing business just like we are with the slow down and he keeps adjusting fees upward. I used to have the #1 position in my area of CA for about $25 a year. Moved to TN and if I could get it would cost me over $400. Would I get more work if I had that position? If I worked cheap maybe. But mine like yours I hope is a business and my fee is based on costs of a real business. My 3+ hrs of work plus record keeping and trying to make sure I get paid is worth well more than minimum wage. Just my rambling thoughts.

Yes I agree it was suppose to be once certified always certified. He gave Carmen a list of people that he thought cheated and my name wad on that list. I want to know how I cheated, Jeremy gave me the test himself. From what Carmen said “he was starting from square one and retesting every one.” Not everyone received the same questions. He was bringing up questions on stuff I have done since I have been a notary in 1983. If I have questions I call the NNA. I mostly do trusts and loan closings. I have been a banker for 35 years. My last job was with the FDIC, I thinl I know about loans. He has np clue if we make more money or not. I was in the number one spot in Sacramento and it cost me $1200, it came to renewal and he ran off and gave it to a signing company.

Wow, he wants you to take an IQ test but does not even use the appropriate tense in the sentence.

Same thing here - my elite certification was supposed to be for life - guess life was until I refused to complete his entire written quiz (I did not complete the part referring to loan signings as I’m no longer doing them, and advised him of such) - my elite certification disappeared. Glad I only have a basic listing - I have no monetary loss as a result.

I no longer pay 123 Notary. The owner thinks if he can get more regulation by writing these letters. In turn he thinks he will make more money with his testing curriculum on his website. His tactics are unethical, his phone calls are extremely rude. I refuse to support his company. I don’t work in California I don’t need to know the California laws but he thinks I need to know the laws in every state and that is simply incorrect. I need to know the laws where I am licensed in. I need to insure and bond myself. I don’t need an arrogant rude jerk telling me how to run my business. Thank you.

I guess he is at it again. I had a free listing which I had updated about 2 months ago. Previously had a paid one, but got no additional business from that because I was not moved up in the que any farther. Anyway, just tried to log in and found my listing deleted. Have no idea why and was given no warning.

I don’t know why people continue to do business with Jeremy. I am a 40 veteran of the lending industry and many of the answers he wants to his questions he asks are wrong. He kicked me out several years ago and said to me “without him I will never make any money in the signing business.” Well he was wrong I actually made more not being affiliated with him. Don’t trust anything he says. He’s a liar and a rip-off artist looking only to line his pockets. Best advice I can give is do good with the signing companies and they’ll keep sending you business.
