ALERT: Another SCAM Email

Hi All: I received the following email, which came in my spam folder. Whenever I receive a “cold” email, I am suspicious. First, because I am not registered with Notary 123, and second, why would a large firm have an “AOL” address? Bottomline, Yes, it is a scam. I confirmed with the real person at Freemont Bank and Platinum Title. Hope this helps someone.

Generally speaking, commercial banks do one of two things: they either use their own in-house notary OR, they engage the services of an independent [mobile] notary that is well known to them. Banks are very unlikely to contact a notary that they haven’t used before; it’s too risky for them.

No, I do alot of Fremont Bank signings. I looks legit. The fee is high, but that could be 1st position loan. But Fremont usually doesn’t go direct to the notary, they use a title or signing company. Especially a notary they don’t even know…

Just call the phone number and find out.

Thank you for your replies. I was a NSA in New York, but am new to Florida. I always do my “due diligence” when receiving an email request I don’t recognize. I made the appropriate calls and verified the offer was actually a scam. I just wanted to know if anyone else received a similar email.
