Are you constantly getting telemarketing calls for your business needs?

I was curious to see how many are getting almost non-stop telemarketing calls. Apparently, they get my business phone number from this site. The most common (and annoying) call I get is from China, sometimes 2-3am asking what my printer model is and they want to sell me toner. I had them call last week around 2am and they left a message (I am of course asleep at that time since I am not a vampire or 23 years old) and they left the entire message in Mandarin. I don’t understand a word of Mandarin, so I haven’t a clue what they said.

My number is on the nation Do Not Call list but telemarketers from other countries don’t care about that.

The toner calls…yeah, but not at 2 AM. I don’t think they’re due to any particular site, Could be from any site where your phone # is listed. Just this last week there’s been a large increase in e-mail advertising for various do-nothing-but-take-your-money directory sites.

Telemarketer: Hi whom am I speaking with?
Me: This is Ben.
TM: Ben do you have a last name?
Me. Dover.

TM: High can I get your full name?
Me: Sure. Its Un der Ware, I’m Sveedish and don’t speak ingelish so gud. [Works best when you sound like the Swedish chef from Sesame Street.]

TM: can I get your address?
Me: Give them the address of the Houston Astrodome, my ex, Kalamazoo city hall, or the Karen down the street who complains to the HOA about my lawn.

Keep getting calls about my pre-approved business loan/line of credit; if Kate calls me one more time I think I’ll scream - and constantly calling from spoofed numbers. She called me 3 times the other day from 3 different states. ugh

Telemarketers in “this” country don’t care about that either. What’s going on is insane. I keep blocking numbers and each day I get more and more junk phone calls.

I only tried a generic version of my Brother Toner once with terrible results. The cartridge leaked all over and I had to call Brother Tech Support to listen to a finger-wagging lecture about using genuine only. I haven’t received any calls at all from one outfit until two months ago and I get a call daily. I asked the sales rep to send me an email describing their product. She says their cartridges are better because they have a chip installed. I simply do not have the time to try something that might shut down my printer and involve another customer support call. Saving on toner for me involves a customer loyalty program where Staples will periodically offer 30% points for toner purchases which I can use to reduce my overall bill. This makes up for the difference I would get buying clone products. I also can recycle the used cartridges at Staples or OfficeMax/Office Depot for a $2 credit which adds up.

Now I have a new one!! The U.S. Postal Service - called me yesterday and then again today asking if there was anything the postal service could do to improve service to my business - yesterday I was polite and said “No Thank You” - today I missed the call but got a voice mail - same guy as yesterday with same spiel - deleted it and blocked the number!

Yeesh!! Now the Postal Service??? ugh

Thank god I got an automated voice system …I can see who and when they are calling. The spamming is at a all -time high and waste alot of energy.

I receive about 20-25 calls per day on my business line. Only 2-3 of those are notary-related. It wasn’t like this a year ago.

Hi. This is my first time responding to a thread here. It is good to know that I am not the only one receiving these calls. Thank you. I had someone price a ream of paper from one of these calls. I was quoted $45 for a ream of paper. I had to find out how many sheets were in the ream… 500. Of course, that is a no thank you.

It has been this way ever since toll-free long-distance calling has become commonplace and spammers can make all the phone calls they want to anywhere in the country for free. The problem is only getting worse.
