Blacklisting

I accepted a job for way lower than the going rate because I was trying to get signings under my belt. I know I should not have taken it on that price and the time and date changed for the signing to be done and when I asked for more money the SS tried to make me feel like he was doing me a favor and was going to blacklist me. Needless to say I will not work for that SS if he paid me $500 because his lack of respect. Oh, he did keep talking about. I know you’re new in the industry yada, yada. Yes I’m new but, I’m not dumb.

Care to mention who that SS is?

I am not comfortable mentioning the company just yet.

Interesting that you’re “not comfortable mentioning the company just yet.” That’s similar to a victim not willing to name their abuser. Perhaps you’re waiting for more victims to come forward?

If I offend you with this post, I apologize. It just grates on me when someone is willing to allow someone to keep disrespecting/abusing them or others. By naming that SS, you’d forewarn your fellow NSAs from working with that SS.

I’m not intending to answer for the recipient of your post, but just saying that perhaps there is reluctance to name the company for fear that they will see it and withhold future job offers from that notary?

@steves11

Please reference the OPs original statement as follows:

You are correct in that she may have a specific reason for not announcing to the world the name of the Signing Service [SS], but a component of supporting one another is “sharing & caring” information regarding those business entities that are taking advantage/abusing Notary Cafe members . . .
