I was contacted in January 2020 by Milda at Chisholm Law & Title in Miami, Florida. They sent me documents to do a signing for them in Connecticut. All seemed normal and I completed the signing on time. They agreed I would receive payment within 30 days.
I contacted them again a couple months later and they said they would look into it. Two months after that they said they were contacting their accounting department. In September they said they would “send an urgent message to accounting.”
It has now been 11 months and I have not been paid. Just wanted other notaries to know - if they contact you, GET PAID IN ADVANCE!
Did you check them out thoroughly before you took the signing? Many have been floating around recently from what appear to be legit companies but they’re scams. Hope you’re not a victim of that
That said…Check the Florida Bar Association… Floridabar.org … in the search box up top put firm name in … There are numerous partners associated with that firm … I’d contact every one if them.
Why would a legitimate law firm need 30 days to pay anyway.
I do witness for some Law firms here in SC and they claim to [pay in 2 weeks but it show up in my bank account in one. That is just my 2 cents on this subject.
