Clear Sign by Amrock

is this just for RON notaries? I honestly can’t tell. I do signings for Amrock but I’m not a RON. I looked for the info but didn’t find anything. A yes or no would be great.

Clear sign is for RON closings, yes. An email was sent from Amrock (Rocket Close now) to notaries offering RON opportunities and explaining the platform they use is called Clear sign.

Yes, Clear Sign is the platform used for RON signings. Used by several title companies.

@Tisino

Which other title companies?

.

The ClearSign platform is powered by Rocket Close (formerly known as [FKA] Amrock).

.

FYI: The ClearSign digital mortgage closing platform facilitates all of the following closing types:

  • Hybrid
  • In-Person
  • Remote Online Notarization [RON]

I believe that Rocket Close (AMROCK) acquired ClearSign in the past couple of years. I’ve done RON signings for AMROCK using the ClearSign platform within that period of time. ServiceLink also uses the ClearSign platform for RON closings. And I believe that First American uses the ClearSign platform for RON. I’ve been trying to become a RON signer with them, but I was told you have to be invited to join. So far, I have not received that invitation, though I’ve been signing with First American for many years now. If I am incorrect about, please let me know.

I work with Rocket Close using the Clear Sign platform for Hybrid and IPEN. I’m not a RON notary (in California) so don’t know if that’s included.

Correction: ServiceLink is now using the Proof platform. I’m not certain whether what was ClearSign is now Proof, or if they are independent of one another. So, just for clariity, this is my now experience with ServiceLink. Also, Proof is one of the platforms now being used by title companies for RON through SnapDocs. Several SSs are now posting jobs for RON on SnapDocs with Proof as the Title/SS preferred signing platform.
One other thing I have found out about the Proof platform. There are different levels of access on Proof according to your state’s legal agreement with them. As a WA notary we are restricted in the kind of post closing information we can receive. For some reason we cannot access the final signed documents UNLESS we list our email address as a CC in the signing transaction. Even though we may be able to receive a CC of the documents, we cannot receive a copy of the audit trail, which some companies want as part of the final product. I’ve found a workaround to this, but is not optimal. This makes no sense to me since we are the ones who tag the documents, notarize and complete the transactions. So, I have already seen and interacted with all the information available in these documents. I’ve addressed this absurdity with our legal department at DOL for notaries. So far I have received no response. I’ll keep you posted if I ever hear back.
