Does anyone know what the difference is between the closing coordinator, closing officer, escrow officer, pre-closing specialist and post-closing specialist? And what about the settlement agent? Is that the same as a closing agent? I get so confused with all the unnecessary titles. Any help would be appreciated. Do they all have the power to give direct work to NSAs?
They are all title/escrow company employees.
Title of person dependant on level of responsibility/liability.
Well, yeah… that’s obvious. I’m trying to figure out which ones are responsible for what lol
Haha. closing officer/agent, settlement agent or escrow agent are one in the same. They are responsible to over see that all parties are executing their obligations as promised as stated on the contracts/docs.
Closing Coordinator and Closing Scheduler are one in the same. They arrange/booking signings!
Pre-Closing specialists-coordinate/gather docs for approval to closing stage.
Post-closing specialists-audit signed docs and book loans.
But what the heck do I know! I’m just a notary signing agent!
Oh, excellent. Thank you. That’s what I wanted to know. I was only marketing to escrow officers, but it looks like I’ve been skipping over valuable people because I have no idea what they do.
You know exactly what you need to do! Just do it!
