Documents coming at last minute...is this normal?

This is how this industry works most of the times, There is a lot of ping pong between title / lender/ payoff clients to balance the CD at final moment.
If you have time to wait , then wait and execute the job,
If not cancell, Choose what are your priorities, Stress and some $$ or No stress and retired relaxed life ?

Been there, done that, and turned my 110v system off. This rarely happens and is a over kill. You are not getting paid for this extra effort and no will recognize it. I am just saying. Eventually your alternator will burn out from the extra draw of amps ( mine did), if you keep doing and printing like you think you are doing. ID, I take a cell phone pic and send. Many title companies do not ask for ID’s. Being very rural, you should ask for more per signing. If document is wrong, i tell title, I have to get them printed and come back , Extra $$ ,

Mistakes are NOT My problem to rectify for FREE !!!

I’m going for less stress! I got a request today for a sale signing, scheduled for 45 minutes from the text. Location was an hr and 15 minutes away and pay was $65! You’ve got to be kidding. Then they texted back to say that the date and time was negotiable up until Monday, but pay still $65. Nope. I’ve actually been doing very well with field inspections believe it or not. Maybe it’s my location but I’ve been able to name my price for them. They are rural but I’ve been able to set 5-6 up along a route, get it done in 3-4 hours and still clear $200 . The actual work equates to about 30 minutes of time, the rest is driving. Then when I get home about 30 minutes to upload the reports. I can set whatever time I want for them, giving myself up to a week to do them.
:woman_shrugging:

I refuse to drive 65 miles one way, print 300 pages of documents with a scan back for $65. Are people actually doing this?

Actually, this concept of “mobile devices” came years ago which started the “mobile notary” movement in the first place. 10 years ago I was providing printing/copying services (in addition to notary stuff) on the go from the back of my SUV because the clients didn’t have the technology. It’s the advancements in technology since that is diminishing its requirement. The difference? In the past you were expected to have it. Now, its an extra charge because of its rare need. Like air conditioning in a car, in the past it was an option, now it’s standard in every car!
