I received a request to notarize a Fidelity document. They sent me a link to their Drop Box in order to review & print for them. I tried to open the link but it did not have a Dropbox.com address. I then advised them about the link looking suspicious and that I was not going to open it. His response: “I completely understand your caution and I appreciate you being careful with links. Due to the sensitivity of the documents, I securely wrapped the pages into a downloaded PDF to ensure they are protected. Once you do that you’ll have access to the remaining pages for your peace of mind.” Your thoughts & suggestions?

I don’t know what “I securely wrapped the pages into a downloaded PDF to ensure they are protected. Once you do that you’ll have access to the remaining pages for your peace of mind” means. I’d be afraid it’s double-talk to try to get you to continue into a scam.

Ok, there’s a pattern here. I wanted to share to make our Notary community aware of possible scams. Always trust your gut.

Run. Sound fishy. Tell them to reassign the order.
It wasn’t through a signing agency. They found me online.
