Finest Mobile Notary - Beware!

I did a vehicle loan form signing in NJ, one page only. The fee was promised to be $50. After the job was completed, I texted and emailed many times and no response from anyone. I did see those warning reviews in public but decided to give it a try. Now I know never to do business with this company again.

@bnooger221 – “I did see those warning reviews in public but decided to give it a try.”

NOTE to everyone: You’re not special. If someone or several NSAs have posted negative reviews on a company, it’s for a reason. You will have the same negative results. If more of us kept this in mind and refused to work with those negative companies, they wouldn’t stay in business.

Yes, absolutely agreed. However, I also read the comments on here, Notary Cafe, and it’s quite positive. That’s why I decided to try it myself. Of course, lesson learned.

I’ve been getting texts from them for assignments in my area - always 1-2 pages, no printing or scans. Last one was in next county over, no printing, no scans, signer has valid ID and has document, will retain document. Well, in my book, that’s General Notary Work and I won’t be splitting my GNW fee (pitiful as it is) with anyone. I did not accept this offer, but if I had I would have told them “Okay, my fee for that county is $60, payable at the table by the signers” - I won’t extend credit for this kind of GNW work.

Reviews are not always fair or accurate. I don’t think anyone should make their decisions based on what is posted here. JMO

I just took a signing from them last Friday and it was fast, seamless and I was already paid by e-Check on Tuesday.

Same! They are one of my best contractors. They always send a check within 3-5 business days. I also had a signing where I was unable to complete it due to unforeseen circumstances on the client’s part & they paid my travel fee.

I just got a request from them now.

They want me there in 30 minutes. I guess I’ll decline.

That was my first 3 jobs for them, the 4th has never been paid.

@carol2 Regarding Non-Payment, the following two posts may be of assistance to you:

I did 3 for them and never had an issue. Good to know though.

I give every company a “test drive”. If there is no reciprocation or satisfaction on the business transaction, I put them on my “Blacklist” and send a certified “Final Payment Notice”.
If company’s can Blacklist notaries, then notaries should “blacklist” right back.
I am not “Norma Rae”, but I believe in what’s fair in business.

Absolutely. That is why I have a “Black List”.

I won’t work with them any more. They’ve screwed me many times. Just today I got a call from a signer in my area who needed one document notarized. She asked my fee and I said $50 total. She was shocked. Apparently she had already booked with Finest Mobile Notary and had to pay $150! Within minutes, Finest Mobile Notary texted me to ask me to take it. I recognized the zip code, document type, and location and I said NO. This customer was pretty distraught and they wouldn’t let her cancel with them. They’re the worst. And the signing is for more than 2 days away. They are the worst – they have no ethics whatsoever. Stick with them and you’ll find out!

Curious…what right do they have to not allow her to cancel. That’s rather arrogant of them..IMO

What right? They’re the lowest of the low in my opinion. FINEST is the CRAPPIEST.
My statement above was incorrect though. It was a little more than 24 hrs notice when they tried to cancel. I would never do that to a client, but I would never accept payment in advance anyway. I can’t understand how a signing service ever gets away with getting payment in advance. Would anyone here pay for a service in advance? Not me. But what gets me is that a customer would pay that unusually high fee for a single document. Why?

@bnooger221 Thank You :folded_hands: for sharing your direct experience with this business entity.

Concur :100: percent :tada: with your business decision to "never do business with them again."

It certainly appears that a very negative reputation is being developed by that business entity within this industry.

======

Please Remember to honor yourself by learning vicariously from the direct experience of others.

Your fellow Business Owners have submitted & shared their direct experiences in a sincere effort to help others avoid the pitfall in which they were (unfortunately) ensnared . . .

Remember that the Non-Paying business entities will “tell a tale” that is not only convincing, but also believable as they seek out their next victim.

Don’t take the bait!

If you do - the status for that Signing Order [SO] will soon fall within the Category of Non-Payment.

The end result is that the business continues to operate & it will then ensnare other business owners who are (sadly) unsuspecting/too-trusting/desperate to receive a SO.

I have done two GNW for them, got paid the next day as soon as I send confirmation that I did the signing.

So once again someone says this is a terrible company and others post they’re great. Sometimes you have to decide for yourself.
