Has anyone worked for Frontier Title in Washington State, Not sure if I will get paid
Why do you think you won’t get paid? How long has it been since you completed the work?
Not for Frontier Title, but for several other title companies in Northwest Washington. I’ve never been stiffed by a title company yet - those relationships are gold. The key to quick payment is to ALWAYS submit your invoice as a cover page to the completed documents. Title companies want to clear all payments due for a transaction on the disbursement date. Make it easy for them to do that, and you will see your check in as little as 5 - 7 days.
Actually, in my opinion, the key to getting paid is to research the companies prior to accepting work with them Signing Central and conversations at Notary Rotary are excellent resources, and searching here works as well.
@dougkruyt, you have not come back and answered my question.
Good suggestion! In my experience, by the time I’ve put the offer on hold long enough to open SC and search, the client has hung up and said, “Next notary, please!” Still, a suggestion the clique at NR likes to espouse, and one that likely proves very helpful… if you are the only notary in your area.
If you are concerned about missing a good assignment, you can accept it then do your research right away afterward. If your research shows that they don’t pay, or they pay too slow for your taste, or if you read other negative stuff that causes you to question their integrity, you call them back and tell them you’ve changed your mind about the assignment and tell them exactly why.
Doing this, it’s a win for you and a define lose for them. If we–as notaries-do this enough, then we can get rid of the scam companies out there. And, there are LOTS.
