Here's the thing about "research"

People say “do your research” and make decisions about job offers based on things posted here or whatever.

I looked up Notary IQ and found a thread from 2023 that was fairly disparaging because they weren’t all over the place. A couple of posters claimed they wouldn’t take orders from them because there’s not that much info available - the year they were brand new.

They pay in 7 days and offer decent fees. They have a notary sign up. Could be I signed up and that’s why they emailed me. Because that’s what I do with a lot of info from the forum I go find an agencies website and register.

They sent a request for a job 14 miles from me 31 pages at a hundred bucks. I’d do that all day long. So not everyone’s experience is going to be your experience. If you’re a new notary - sometimes you take a leap of faith and do the job.

You can’t assume everyone knows everything and is always right. Just saying. I have seen plenty of posts saying these people are rip offs, this company never work for and my personal experience has been nothing like what others report. I just think we have to be more careful telling new notaries who they should or should not accept jobs from. Someone recently posted they avoid jobs from snap docs. I take as many as 20 orders a month from snapdocs and get checks twice a month from that site. If I listened to someone who said avoid snapdocs it would cost me a lot.

Don’t operate in a fear that’s not warranted. I guess that’s what I’m trying to say.

Some people still don’t get the concept that platforms like Snapdocs or Signingorder are not the company that they’re getting paid from. They just facilitate the signing.

I needed to hear this. I am a brand new notary/loan signing agent and it can get overwhelming hearing who to avoid and who to sign up with. I appreciate your insight. I am in a rural area that is developing at a RAPID pace, so I am trying to dive in to get started. There are a lot of neighborhoods popping up, but when I call around, they said that most of their closings are done via RON these days. Sometimes I just stop the research and go to in person marketing because it can be A LOT.

I haven’t entertained certifying as RON because it isn’t ruling the process in my area of Eastern Washington.

I don’t know that I will either, to tell you the truth.

It’s mostly the cookie cutter neighborhoods that said they are doing it via RON, but everything else is still traditional. My snapdocs and signing order have been quiet, but I am still new, so i know it takes a while to get it going. My local title company 10 minutes from my house said that they do not have any LSA that they use and I came at just the right time, so I will send a follow up with them.
