Here’s my feeling: We are told over and over that stating our fees is price fixing and illegal.
Okay.
But there’s nothing wrong with reporting offers that have been made for services, and whether we might find those offers acceptable.
Here goes:
Refi with scans, 197 pages, offered 3 hours prior to signing: $85. NO
Refi, unknown size, offered 1 hour before signing: $60. NO
Refi with scans, offered 5 days prior, 105 pages, regular client: $125. YES
Refi, offered 3 days prior, 118 pages, no scans, intermittent client with good payment record: $115. YES
Heloc, under 100 pages, no scans, regular client, offered 4 days prior: $100. YES
These are not fees I set - they are simply examples of ones I would find (or did find) acceptable. My location has a great deal of competition, and signings are heavily concentrated, requiring limited travel.
