Don’t know if this is still true, but UPS would delete my account if I didn’t ship (under my account) in the last 6 - 8 months. After going thru this numerous times, I called and explained that I shipped a LOT of packages that were billed to various other companies and I just had to ‘provide the envelopes’. Ah…the lady said…so you’re a ‘3rd party shipper’; I’ll make a note on your account. Haven’t (knock on wood) had an account deleted since.
Another caveat. Don’t think SS are still doing this, but I don’t work for the kazillion out there.
Some used to just provide their Fed-Ups billing account # and you’d have to ‘create the label’ to return the docs. Don’t do it online OR use paper labels you’ve ordered! Why? Because if the account doesn’t exist, you’ll get the bill months later! Cute trick, huh.
QUESTION: Has anyone recently experienced just getting their billing # and NOT having a return label included in the print pkg?
@johnsonps306 – Yes, you can also order the cardboard envelopes. Go to supplies and click on “envelopes” then select either/or both sizes (letter and/or legal). You can select the regular or the reusable ones.
I found it helpful to write down the stock number of the envelope and pouch so I can find them quickly. The UPS web site for ordering free pkg materials is not as user friendly as it could be and your previously ordered items sometimes goes away.
Thank you so much. Since the UPS PolyPaks are rarer than hen’s teeth, I have been buying plain mailing envelops and using the address pouches I get from the UPS stores. Getting those mailing pouches is hit and miss. In the past I have had some trouble, depending on the branch, other branches hand over a healthy stack when I ask and even remind me if I don’t. One third party shipper chastised me for using my own mailer envelops because according to the shipping label I was emailed, the shipper had paid for the Express envelop. Since it costs me to provide my own mailing envelops, I’m not sure why I received this beat down. I’m not getting a refund.
First when logged in on UPS, you need to enter the item number of each separately. First the pkg of 50 plastic EXPRESS PAK envelopes is item # is 010195111. Then the pouches for the return labels item # is 171604. Express pak legal size and pouches always come in lots of 50. All others are in lots of 25. Express pak is listed under PACKAGING rather than under envelopes. UPS is the least user friendly web site I have ever encountered and I have told them this for more than 15 years. These orders will be delivered to your home at no charge unless you have never seen a UPS truck on your street, if you create an account with logins. Hope this helps.
I had off today because it’s a holiday so I thought I would try and order supplies. I followed your instructions and have put in my very first order. I should receive the supplies within about 6 business days. I am thrilled! Thank you.
