This evening I received a phone call for a refi assignment, no faxbacks, print one set of docs. and the fee was $200. Unfortunately, I had to give the assignment back due to the weather - thunderstorms. The assignment was over an hour from my location. Here’s why, I had already been in one auto accident a few years ago. That previous auto accident cost in medical expenses close to $100K and three surgeries. So I had made my wife and myself, never again will I drive in adverse weather for a loan signing. I like making money, but I like making smart money too. When you live in Florida, especially during this time of the year, there a great potential for adverse weather and a few crazy drivers. I don’t operate like the post office. Oh well, I will catch the next assignment.
Your health and safety are always number 1. Good decision.
…especially to those in Texas and Florida…
Sorry to hear this happened to you, Carl. Glad to see you’re back at it and, apparently, have recovered. Smart choice in working or not working in certain conditions.
We are so rural I made the choice a long time ago to not do signings after 6:00PM … No street lights AND almost driving straight into the Santa Fe River made up my mind for me.
@cfletcher That’s wonderful that you know your Worth & make decisions based upon that knowledge! Congratulations.
I concur that it’s quite challenging to let potential income flow away from you, but if it’s in your best interest to do so you’ve developed your discernment to an intricate level.
Again, Congratulations
Of note, as a 3-time cancer survivor (and thriver) I truly can relate to your referenced health recovery experience.
Thank you for sharing your health experience. May you continue to be cancer free and maintain excellent health as well.
Let me thing about it…For $200. I can get a $100k medical bill, I’ll take door #2.
