JP Morgan needed me to come to their corporate executive building location today. I came quickly and when finished, the employee offered two corporate cards that were denied!
He then called a JPM Department to learn paying notary services is “illegal” since the bank uses employee notaries that weren’t there on a holiday. I wanted a confirmation of what he said, “your notary services are unlawful for JP therefore banned from corporate credit cards”.
The employee called my services “illegal” I found offensive. He had also tried to bump up the appointment time so he wouldn’t have to pay a $10 rush fee for a 30 minutes arrival request
Greed is an ugly thing isn’t it?

They are being ridiculous. I would have let him know quickly that no one made him call for a notary.
Hi Chery, I want to offer some insight here from my own experience.
(Please note that these are my views from my experience and my views only which do not have any bearing on the business that JPMC conducts or any of their current policies in place).
It sounds like an employee tried to use a corporate business card (or an employee business card) that has certain policies outlined for business use and purposes to pay for 3rd party notary services.
If the employee needed a notary, one of the benefits of working with JPMC (or as an account holder), is that the employee could use a Notary who is employed by JPMC at no cost to the employee. However, if the employee wanted to use a notary that was not employed by JPMC (3rd party), that is their right to do so, but they should be paying the 3rd party notary with their personal funds, not a JPMC Corporate/Employee Credit Card.
As a loan signing agent, we know that JPMC hires third party notaries for certain real estate transactions to maintain impartiality instead of using their own notaries.
With that said, it sounds like the employee of JPMC should review their corporate card policies and leverage their existing employee benefits.
Hopefully you won’t have this type of experience in the future again if hired by an employee of financial institution.

Took me a while to read your response, thank you! They had no choice but to get an outside notary.
