Can someone please explain what is a “legal retainer signing”?.. just got an offer for $50. I declined, whatever it is I found it too low.
Contract between Party A (who your signer is) and Party B (attorney or legal service providing legal services to Party A)
Thank you Linda… one more question, usually how many pages and notarizations?
I have no idea - guess that depends on the requirements of Party B (attorney/legal service). At the attorney’s office where I work, their retainer agreements are 4 pages with a Statement of Client Rights of 3 pages - no notarizations.
Understood! Then $50 was not bad except for the fact that it was 55 minutes away, I still counter offered $150.
Thanks again Linda
Yeah, I wouldn’t even drive for an hour to do that - I’d refer them here or to Notary Rotary, Find-A-Notary tab and get someone in the area…
Good on your for your counteroffer.
My only concern with the term legal retainer is it seems like sometime in the past I had something that was more like a MORTGAGE or a huge loan package that they called a legal retainer anybody ever have that happen to them? I know I’ve been burned by this at least once but it’s been a while. I’m out of commission right now. I’m living in Michigan and will be commissioned here right now. I’m taking a sabbatical, my mom passed away in December
genevawilkerson33 My condolences for your loss
