Low Ballin' - Know your worth

I always countered. Unless its Coast to Coast $30. Loan mods

I got those from First American direct at $75.plus

Bobby the “Fee” is just proper reimbursement for your expenses. The pay is the hiring company allowing you to carry out their clients paperwork.

You know, of course, that my post was joking, dontcha, Joe?

I am in CA, I work my notary business from a brick and mortar. I have begun to respond with reasons why I can’t accept the low fees. “ Would love to help, however upcharge covers the travel fees.” Next text I get, same job, with my requested fee. Unfortunately, there are new notaries, taking what they can get at these low prices for experience, but they will soon realize the amount of work, paper, gas and time is not worth it.

Last night, 5pm I was called for an 8pm refi, I was shocked to hear, $275! That is what these signing companies are getting paid and it’s our name, our bond, our insurances on the line.

Stay strong, folks, and know your worth.

Oh My….I’m so sick of the low-balling. I wish we could all come together and NOT accept any of those ridiculous offers. I work in NC, VA, and SC, and I don’t leave my house for $75 or less. That fee has to be in Salisbury and 1 or 2 docs to sign/notarize.

When people post what fee they will accept, it also undercuts fair rates because $75 isn’t very much if you are printing 150 pages twice and driving 70 miles round trip. In my rural area $75 is losing money. But people take $75-$80 all the time. I’d rather do nothing that lose money which is why I am home today.
