Most I’ve ever received from a platform was $350.
Thank you all for this thread. I’ve been asked to sign up with Servicelink, as they said they don’t have anyone in my area. They offered me an assignment that is 91 miles one way and I quoted them 200. Needless to say, they found another notary. However, they’re still asking me to onboard with them. I finally had to tell them I didn’t believe we would be a good fit. I appreciate all the information I found in this forum which allowed me to make my decision.

Interesting. I was offered a closing at Austin a plus 30 miles, tolls and when I requested a higher fee they reassigned the closing. I guess they are assuming that a $80 fee is a sufficient amount. Not really most companies I work with would offer $125 or above. The cost benefit is not there at these rates. Don’t take it my friends you are worth more than that. Don’t allow to be devalued. Set the tone not them. Be reasonable in your approach and with your offers. Most of all be respected and be paid accordingly.
Tracy I have been conducting loan signings for many years. Regardless of what I read or the response that will happen as a result of my post, I think a standard signing fee for printing documents and traveling within 15 miles is $100-125 and depending on the situation goes up from there. In my area, that is a reasonable rate and I have stuck to it and am busy. I know my costs and if I can stay busy I am happy. I am also not supporting a family and am very close to retirement and it is enough money for me. If I have a slower day and other signings come up on the platform that aren’t a standard rate but are reasonable for me to fit in then I may take one for slightly less. I call them “filler signings”. I have worked very consistently with one particular company and they send me around 10 signings a week. The only time I have ever made $300 plus on a signing is if I agreed to travel to a remote area that was over 60 miles away. If I had a pretty empty schedule day and my husband felt like going for a drive with me I would take it! I only see $150 signings on the platforms if they can’t find a notary to take it…usually because of distance or it is a late evening signing. Good for the notaries if they are making that much money per signing but I have not seen that in my experience (since 2005).
Sorry, let me clear this up. Platform, hiring agency, signing service, middleman, or even individual graduates of a new online signing service training course. Those that take a finder’s fee from the borrower’s settlement expenses.
Or be hired without a middleman taking a cut.
91 miles! That would be like me taking an assignment in Santa Monica. One would think there might be a notary just a little bit closer. What was Service Stink offering for that?
