Mobile American & Apostilles, Granada Hills

So this evening I got an inquiry of my prices and services from someone who acted like he’s shopping for a low cost notary public. He moved on from my call but then called back as if I was another notary he asked over again. That’s right, it came to my attention he dumped me to search for another notary but then I never heard back. I looked up his number to discover he was a notary business gathering data to expand into the San Francisco market.

He wasn’t upfront he was harassing me on a Saturday evening to expand his business Mobile American & Apostilles in Granada Hillls, CA wanting to compete with my services in San Francisco. I thought that was uncalled for and arrogant aggression when he could have visited my website and how selfish of him to take up my weekend evening that way. He could have been honest introducing himself but he chose deception. I’ll never work for him and he’s been blocked from calling ever again.

WoW! Sorry you experienced that! :cry: Your experience was not so great, but good end result. Thank you for sharing. :sparkles::pray::angel:

===== A Tangential Experience . . .
Within the initial year of performing signing agent services, I received a ‘friendly’ call from a Certified Notary Signing Agent [CNSA] in a nearby city. She had been in business for a number of years (confirmed this prior to the meeting). She reached out to me on the premise that she’d like to connect, have lunch, and see if there would be a ‘good fit’ for her to send her overflow orders to me when her schedule was booked. She said that she wanted to be comfortable with the person and the way they’d perform services if she provided a referral.

This all sounded very reasonable and as a newbie I appreciated a fellow ‘professional’ seeking me out to share her order overflow.

We scheduled a lunch meeting. We introduced ourselves to one another & ordered lunch. Our food arrived promptly and at that point she was already into a spiel of how interested she was in who I was working with & who the contacts were in my region.

WHAT???!!! :astonished:

My gaze rotated directly into her eyes :eyes: and I said: “Well, that’s a very interesting question. What about the overflow work you referred to in your call to schedule this meeting?”

She said: “Oh that. I haven’t had overflow work in a number of years.”

I nearly CHOKED on the bite of food I was eating . . .

It was quite a shock to the system & a true violation. Couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

She was intentionally deceptive, unprofessional, and duplicitous. Her gambit was truly an insult to the intelligence of anyone she played it upon. Of course, since that time I have avoided any contact whatsoever with this individual (for reasons that are apparent).

Clearly demonstrates that just because someone is a Signing Agent/Notary, doesn’t mean they’re honest, reliable, forthright, and/or professional. This experience introduced me to one of the elements on the ‘seedy’ side of this business sector.

:roll_eyes:

Eh… a/k/a the downside of networking between Independent contractors/the competition.
