I have taken about a dozen mortgage connect closings this month. All except one has fallen through becuase I did not get the documents either at all, or after it was way too late. Anybody else dealing with this? They did pretty good last month and the one before. I’m assuming they’re backed up because of the rates dropping, but seriously???
When accepting any assignment, always let hiring party know you need docs no later than XX (Hour) or you cannot accommodate. This puts the onus on them.
That is what I do. You can’t schedule additional work if you don’t know when documents are coming. I start asking the day before an appointment and then give my deadline for receiving the documents. If I have a full day the day it’s scheduled you can lose other business waiting on documents.
TX, Hi I work with MC quite a bit doing mostly TxCash out Where we have to go to Title office or Atty office, (I rent a conference rm for an hour)I have not encountered doc issue! They work well with me!!
I sure hope they are offering you better than the ridiculous low fee of $50 for 200 pages they are offering us in Montana.
I wouldn’t do it, 50 won’t get me out the door.
I won’t do it for $50 either. I always negotiate and sadly it don’t get the job. However there are uneducated Notaries in NW Montana that don’t know what the value of their time is and do accept $50 jobs
If you accepted a dozen closings from MC, you likely didn’t earn as much as you could have if you had negotiated their offers. They typically don’t offer what the job is actually worth, unless I’m missing something.
Lately I am getting requests at my standard fee. Maybe they are re-thinking the low ball game.
