Mortgage Connect -- email regarding efficiency and Loan Modifications

Received today (2/13/2025):

February 13, 2025

Dear Valued Partners,

Please review the below items to assist Mortgage Connect in making the closing experience for our borrowers more efficient.

· Please make certain you check your voicemail periodically so that it does not become full, so we are able to leave messages when needed.

· If the closing package includes legal size paper, please make certain you are returning the closing package in a legal size UPS envelope. Please do not return the closing package in a plastic UPS bag.

New Opportunity: Loan Modification Signings

The Loan Modification is a new product we are making available to our agents. Some of you may have already completed some of these.

Below are some of the expectations of these closings.

o The loan modification package downloaded includes both copies.

o Only 1 copy of the PDF that is downloaded needs to be printed.

o The loan modification closing package will range from 30 to 60 pages depending on the client.

o A full signed package must be uploaded/scanned to the Mortgage Connect Portal.

The form below is included in the loan modification closing packages. Nothing should be marked in either of the unless it is a RON signing

(redacted Florida-compliant Acknowledgement with an actual person’s name included)

Any questions, please reach out to Vendor Management at vendors@mortgageconnectlp.com

Thank you,

Mortgage Connect, Vendor Management

My response:
Dear Vendor Management:

If Mortgage Connect is serious about making the closing experience “more efficient” for borrowers, Mortgage Connect would hire efficient notary signing agents and pay a professional fee — not the paltry amounts you currently offer.

I’d like to bring to your attentiono that the below Acknowledgement “sample” includes an actual person’s name. Perhaps someone should have redacted that or simply replaced it with a fictional name, i.e. Jane Doe. Just a thought so as to not breach any privacy laws.

I doubt they’ll respond or acknowledge.

My guess is that they’ll see just how low they can go with fees for loan modifications
NOPE!!

:white_check_mark: Without a doubt!

Whooooa, not cool! :astonished:

I have also seen signing requests come out and in the request it says “DO NOT USE NOTARY PUBLIC JANE SMITH!” (BTW, Jane Smith in this case is a filler name, not name of real notary. Apologies to all the real Jane Smith notaries out there LOL.) That I chalk up to human error. Folks sending these messages out just don’t think it through sometimes.

Loan modifications take 15 minutes. It’s important to follow the rules to the letter. My fee remains my fee regardless of pages or time. So, we’ll see what they offer by way of fees. I’m not sure why someone is posting email they receive in full to the forum. You have to apply and be approved to receive Mortgage Connect orders from their website. They use Constant Contact though, so AI is running their email notifications.

Maybe Jane Smith needs to know she’s doing a bad job.

@yolicue Thank You (in advance) for sharing any response(s) that you may receive in this regard. It’s quite helpful to ALL Notary Cafe members.
