New to adobe

Notaries:
I’ve been using chrome and whatnot for the longest time
Is it worth it to pay $20 a month to get adobe?? Thanks

The free Adobe Reader is all I’ve ever needed in the 30 years I’ve been doing this.

The free Acrobat Reader is available at Adobe - Download Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

By default, as a promotional maneuver, it installs a free trial of McAfee security software. I consider McAfee to be garbage, so I strongly suggest you uncheck the appropriate boxes so that doesn’t get installed.

I’ve always found Acrobat Reader to be better than the pdf-reading software that’s built into the various browsers. The full Acrobat that you pay for is even better; it lets you make a wide range of changes to documents. But it hasn’t been worth the extra cost as far as I’m concerned.

Stick to the free version. You don’t need anything else really.

great thanks for the detailed instructions

In my Notary/LSA business, I never use Adobe or other help for printing documents, for me, it is easier just to set the required format on my Brother printer and that’s it, flawless printed documents, and using my non-expensive Chrome laptop things go better for me.

Brother printers default is PDF for documents, so no need for Adobe or another expensive addition to print docs, unless you need another format you can set it on your laptop or computer.

You’re spot on regarding McAfee. They use to be good until the CEO got busted years ago.

I subscribe to adobe pro for my business, it allows me to utilize more features than what is provided by the free adobe reader version. Really it all depends on what your business needs and the services you offer.

I use Adobe all the time and I too get that 7 day free trial offer which irritates me no end. Renting ($20 a month) is a ridiculous expense (my 2 cents). If you decide to buy, try googling “college school software”. ; you can often find crazy good deals that way. Or… if you know a student, have them buy it for you.

Absolutely. I really love the combining files. Have you ever had a title company who sent you over 10 different files? Instead of driving to their office and killing them, you just use the combine function. My smaller scanner will only do 100 pages and many times there are more pages so combining is the answer. Editing PDFs is great. Signing PDFs is great filling in PDFs is great. I can add my actual signature and stamp to any document. It has a cloud function. It has a scanning function for use with your phone. And you can write it off as a business expense. For me it’s a no-brainer and I used to try to find the free PDF options and there’s just no comparison.
