I was assigned to facilitate a Loan Application with Notaries247.com. It was a 300+ page file. Appointment was confirmed a couple days before and then day of…there’s zero communication with the signer.
There was a blizzard & was 24 min late. An hour before the appointment, I was calling — while driving in a blizzard, to anyone who would answer. No one responded. Finally arrive to the home of the elderly signer. HEARD footsteps of someone inside, waited about 20ish min. Still no answer.
After documenting everything and submitting a request for a measly $50 trip and print fee. Lauren ChavezOperations Director Of Notaries 24-7, Inc. responds by saying, “nope no funds for you. The Lender cancelled the appointment. We didn’t get paid so you won’t either.”
The Lender fabricated a story saying I didn’t show up, was unprofessional & his client wasn’t home because they had to get to an appointment. (In MN the elderly do not drive in blizzards.)
With all my documented evidence, who does she believe!?
Yup you guessed it, the lying lender!
Proceed with caution with this company. In addition to that incident, I’m constantly begging for compensation. This is an subpar company, enough is enough.
4. All payments are made by e-check via Deluxe. Payment for all signings are payable 45 days from the date signing EXCLUDING Sundays and Holidays. If the signing cancels or is rescheduled and no documents have been printed, then there will not be a fee paid to notary. If the signing cancels prior to notary going to meet with the borrower and notary has printed documents, then NOTARIES 24-7 will pay a print fee. If the signing cancels during the closing, then notary acknowledges that NOTARIES 24-7 is not required to pay full fee, but a trip fee will be paid to the notary. QUESTIONS on payment, please email AP@Notaries247.com. - if they did not notify you before the appointment I would escalate for trip fee.
Yes you have listed the company policies… This conversation is being discussed because they do not follow their own company policies.
Nope. You still won’t get a trip and print fee if the lender lies and you provide proof of this. Everything leading up to the appointment was the senior signer had cold feet and this clearly upset the lender. Easy scapegoat is always the notary, even with proof.
Unless a person enjoys working for free, stay away from the loan application appointments. You’d get ahead financially by taking a nap rather than accepting them.
Also in regards to compensation, in 50-60 days your compensation will possibly arrive IF you beg. If you don’t have enough audacity to beg, payment may come around 70-90 day days for all other orders. The road with this company has come to exhausting end!
The last application appointment I took the signer didn’t let me in the house because he said I told that guy I was not signing his deal. Sorry you wasted a trip.
I have signed four applications with this same man in the last year. Never have done that before.
I invoiced for 50% of my fee and received that payment. Took it from a different site.
When I noted what happened that loan officer called me and said didn’t you go through any of the figures with him?
It’s pretty standard practice that if the signing service doesn’t get paid, you don’t either. Of course, it’s not fair to you, but that’s just how it is in this business. Whether they actually did get paid something and are just lying to you about it is another question. It sounds to me like Notaries 24-7 should be avoided.
Nope not lying!! Everyone knows, calling out a company leads to them retaliating and passively aggressively leaving a negative review on my portal profile further affecting my income. So why would I lie?!
You wouldn’t lie, but the fact that they retaliate encourages notaries to just bite the bullet and keep their mouths shut. Or at least speak in vagaries, resisting the temptation to name the offending company.
