I received a message this morning regarding a Notary stars data breach. Did anyone else receive this?
I haven’t seen anything, but I was on a training about a few months back and they got infiltrated/hacked and someone went live on video and let’s just say it was NOT cool. They are definitely being targeted.

The “Notary Stars” name shown in the McAfee alert does not mean that Notary Stars was breached. These alerts are often generated from stolen credential lists found on the dark web. If anyone logged into Notary Stars from a device infected with malware, or if an old username and password combination was included in one of these lists, McAfee may display Notary Stars as the associated website—even if our website was never compromised.
As a precaution, we have thoroughly reviewed our systems, including a full server malware scan, and found no evidence of a security breach or unauthorized access. Additionally, Notary Stars does not appear in any known public breach databases. You can also further research this easily by running a site scan with McAfee. We also ran this with the same site owner that you build your site with.
We suggest anyone who receives that email to forward the email to: scam@mcafee.com and ask for further clarification.
Currently, McAfee is aware of this situation and are working to remove our names from this list.
It’s also important to know that Notary Stars is designed to limit the amount of sensitive information stored on our platform. Members choose what information they wish to display publicly, such as their business contact information, and we do not require users to store sensitive personal information on the site.
For payment security, Notary Stars does not store your full credit card number, CVV/CVC security code, or your complete billing information. We only retain the last four digits of your card for reference. Payment processing is handled securely by our payment provider Stripe which operates independently from our website.
We’ve also received reports from individuals who are not members of Notary Stars but received a McAfee alert referencing our domain. While we cannot speak to how McAfee compiles or labels its alerts, this indicates that the appearance of Notary Stars in the alert is not, by itself, evidence that our website was breached. And more of a tactic to get you to buy more programs to protect your identity. Which is why you should investigate further with McAfee. Most likely you accessed our site or one of our forms while your computer was infected and it’s giving you a list of sites where you entered your information while your device was infected with Malware or Spyware.

As a best practice we recommend after you run a malware scan, if you are a member, changing your Notary Stars password, especially if you use the same password on other websites. And , even if you are not a member, you forward your email to their scam department

Hi Tiffany- We hope you are doing well! We are sorry that happened while you were there. Unfortunately there are people out there who just don’t know how to act.

We just want to make sure this is clear. Notary Stars was not infiltrated or hacked during that meeting. The Zoom meeting was “bombed” but this was on/through Zoom’s platform and it had nothing to do with our site or users information.
So that is not considered “infiltration or hacking.”
It was just a few rude individuals whose mothers didn’t raise them right and they wanted to crash our good intentions.

Hey notary stars it was my Guardio program that caught your hack. I have no clue how you got my information but then there you are.
