They hired me for a sellers side.I was busy and didnt get a chance to call sellers in two hour window. I was removed without notice. Most companies understand we are the worker bees and some dont, this is one of them!!
Confirming is just part of it.
And the opposite extreme…a couple of regular clients didn’t want me to confirm (they don’t use the platforms). When I explained the reasons I confirm and what their consequences could be if there is a hiccup, they changed their minds.
Confirming the appointment with the signers within 1 hour of receiving the assignment is standard. They didn’t remove you without notice – that confirmation phone call requirement is likely in the signing confirmation they sent you.
That said, if I accept an assignment and know I cannot call signers to confirm within the hour, I ask the scheduler to please call and confirm for me and explain the reason WHY. This happened a number of times to me during COVID when mortgage interest rates were so incredibly low and we were all doing back to back to back to back loan signings. I would tell them, hey, I can absolutely do this signing for you at XYZ Signing Service but I am driving right now headed to another loan signing for XYZ Signing Service and I cannot call to confirm the appointment with your borrowers. If you can do this for me, assure them I will print the loan documents as soon as I can and I will head to their location and call with a more precise ETA. If the scheduler agreed, then that’s what happened. Post-COVID, I have never had to do that. But if need be, I would not hesitate to ask.
You have time for that communication while driving but can’t call the signer?
