I recently had a signing with Nova Signings and I had to reschedule the signing three times as per Nova
then when I saw that there was 158 pages times two sets and a scanback I told him I couldn’t do it for anything less than $100 and if that was not viable, they should reassign it
on the morning of the signing, they agreed and sent me another confirmation for $100. I did the Signing I did the scan back and I put it into FedEx. I was then contacted a few hours later by Nova Signing‘s telling me that they did not authorize me to have $100 and that it was not 200 pages it was 158 pages when you negotiate and ask them to reassign at the $100 is not viable and then to take back their confirmation of $100 for all of this printing and scanning back, please do not work for Nova Signings
As I recall as per our NNA commitment, once we accept an assignment we can’t cancel it just because we don’t like it for some reason. That however creates problems when they don’t specify how many pages are in the download. If you express a willingness to accept the assignment but under conditions such as less than n pages, then you will probably get passed over. So I’m not sure how to handle situations like that and not violate my commitment to follow NNA practices.
That is crazy that they agreed then took it away after the signing was completed. I have had that happen often, and when the docs are around 200 pages I can usually get the signing companies to pay out an extra print fee of $25. I have never had them agree then take it away.
I have not used Nova Signings before, never heard of them so they probably do not have many closings in Florida. Thanks for the heads up of their unprofessional behavior towards notaries though in case any leads come by way for them.
158 pages is somewhat normal with a refiance. However, after being asked to be reassigned and them agreeing to add $X to your fee, it should be honored. In this case, you just need to cut your losses and never work for them again.
