Premier Notary - AVOID

Company representative called me around 8:00 pm for a signing the next morning at 9:00 am. Because I’d spoken with this particular representative before during the process of negotiating an order, we agreed on a price and the docs were sent over.
Let me says that I’d basically stop dealing with this company because they generally tried to low ball you, always requested faxbacks and never wanted to pay accordingly.
There were no faxbacks with this order, so I took a couple hours off from work and went to the signing location. NO BORROWER. I contacted the representative who “suddenly” realized that the borrowers were in California and the signing should have been scheduled out there! (So much for accuracy and efficiency). So she agreed to submit a trip and print fee for my troubles, within 26 days, probably sooner. After a month and a 2nd inquiry regarding payment, the representative states she showed the order was cancelled because I didn’t want to do faxbacks for them. (This was the reason I’d stop doing business with them as mentioned earlier because they don’t want to pay, but expected well in excess of the agreed upon amount.) However, not the case on this order and no faxbacks were required. I followed up with emails from the morning of the signing at 8:53 am confirming information regarding an updated CD as well as the customer’s address because it was hard to find. WHY WOULD I SEND AN EMAIL REGARDING THE CUSTOMER’S ADDRESS JUST MINUTES BEFORE THE SIGNING FOR NO REASON? I provide substantial proof of my conversation with her that morning. Bottom line is they had to pay someone else to actually do the signing and since they are so cheap, and obviously unscrupulous, they didn’t want to pay me for my time and wasted resources. So a word of advice…Steer clear of Premiere. The only thing “Premiere” about them is their greed and lack of ethics.

I never attempt to go to any closing without having first called and confirmed with the borrower first. I had that happen to me when I first started over 19 years ago, and have never had a problem since. If they don’t send me the borrower’s contact information, or I can confirm with them for whatever reason, I just call them and let them know I haven’t been able to confirm, and they usually work with me to find another number, and then I attempt confirming through an email address if no response is made via phone. If no contact is made, I simply call the hiring company back, explain the problem to them, and they get the appointment time pushed back until someone has been able to confirm. Too many times they messed up and the closing was supposed to take place in another state when this happens. When LSI was in business, they used to make me go out to the job with or without a confirmation. I got burned by them once, and it was one time too many for me. Their compensation policy was absurd! I traveled and hour and a half to the location address, then waited for a half hour more as they instructed me. Never again! I confirm with the client in advance, or I simply don’t go. End of conversation. Too many of my closings are a great distance from my office, and many I have to travel unmarked roads, through the mountains, and without cell service for many miles in some circumstances. I stopped taking jobs from them after that for a very long time until they agreed to compensate me a reasonable fee for the work I had done on that job, which was a no show. Wrong phone number, wrong state! So after that, they didn’t mess around with me anymore, and treated me like the professional I was. My rates have gone up since those days too, but if we don’t give ourselves a raise, they sure as heck never will. I have a base fee by which I do not leave my office for less than that amount. Then I charged a certain amount for travel, then a flat fee for the documents, and over a certain amount of faxbacks I will charge an additional fee as well. Some of these companies expect you to faxback over 25 and up to 80 pages, and expect you to do it for the original closing fee. I ask them up front now if there will be faxbacks, and if so, how many. If there are only a few critical docs being faxed back, I usually don’t charge anything more. But if there are an excessive amount, I have a set fee I charge for those as well, which is added to the final closing fee.If they tell me there will only be x amount of docs to be faxed back, and that amount changes, I let them know they will have to send me a new confirmation with the new fee. I let them know that I will not be able to fax the documents over until I receive the revised confirmation. I’ve never had a problem with getting the updated confirmations, and if they don’t send a confirmation with the amount agreed upon with the closing information, at the onset of the agreement to close for them, I let them know I need on sent right away if they expect me to do the job for them.I will not leave my office until I have it in hand. They send the confirmation right away! Be upfront, and be professional, and stick to your quoted fee. If they have worked with you before, their supervisors already know that you are well worth the fee you’ve requested, and instruct them to send the confirmation. We work hard for our fees, and for those who are new to this field, who surcumb to their ridiculous low-balled fees, they need to not engage in this profession until they have worked out the numbers, and stick to their fees. I will on occasion lower my fee for a company I work repeatedly with, if there are special circumstances, and they appreciate you working with them, otherwise I don’t want to hear their sob stories, because that’s exactly what they are, and I learned that the hard way too. They know if they don’t want to have to pay twice for the same job, they need to pay you what you’ve quoted them, or move on. And good luck to them! You are valuable to these companies, and they know all too well if you are a working professional in this field, and with that knowledge, they expect to pay you accordingly. If you fall for their low-balled fee, they’ll treat you with little respect. If you stand firm, they truly will respect you, not only then, but in the future as well. Let them dictate your fee, and treat you like a hired hand, and that’s the way they’ll always treat you. Buckle up, and stand firm! You are a working professional in this business. Heck, we’ve taken the place of attorneys in many respects, in this business. Think about what they charge, then you won’t feel so bad when you give a quote!

I’ve dealt with Premier before and had to send them to a collection company to get paid both times. Now I just refuse every time they call ,and tell them I don’t donate my time, and hang up. Best advice when dealing with Premier…hang up right away. Save your time, toner, and gas.

I hate stories like this, I wonder why?

Unfortunately I have had dealings with Premier Notary Services today. I did a purchase for them 6 weeks ago. The title company paid them out 4 days after closing. I sent a number of emails, left many messages with no response. So I called the title company (First Title & Escrow aka Abstract Title USA) they were no more helpful than tits on a bore hog. So I decided to file a lien against the property. I have all borrowers sign a paper that a local attorney prepared for me. Basically it says that the borrowers agree to pay me if the third party that hired me fail to pay me. I decided to call the borrower and let her know that I had not been paid, that Premier would not communicate with me and if I didn’t get paid my next stop would be the county clerks office. The borrower was horrified and agreed to pay me immediately. I promptly gave her a receipt so she could fool with Premier Notary Service In port lucie Florida. Then all of sudden Jeremy calls from Premier Notary Services and started bad mouthing me and calling me names. Please! He needs to grow up and pay his notaries. Don’t trust him or his company, he is a rip off!

Is this the same company as Premier Signing Service, premier@premiersigningserivce.com? Or does anyone know?

Thanks.

I’m dealing with them now and they are really awful. $75 for a Refi puke. I didn’t have anything else that day so I said, why not. They treat you like a child. They call and interrogate you about your experience and then want faxbacks because they don’t trust you. I said, “Sure, I’ll do a scan back if you pay me a fee.” They immediately decided against scan backs. Know your worth people! They’ve sent MULTIPLE confirmation emails, basically trying to remind you of your job. Their emails have a giant list of 15 things you have to do, all highlighted in different colors, including: texting them 30 min before a closing, texting them after the closing is completed, taking pictures of certain docs and sending it to them (so they can check your work), and even getting the UPS officer’s NAME and writing it on the UPS receipt (so they can make sure you actually dropped it to a person).

I have NEVER had to jump through this many hoops for this low of pay. This is the first time I’ve done a Refi for this low. Usually I don’t go under 100… but WOW. Imagine low balling someone and then expecting the world. HA HA HA. Lesson learned for me.
