Print Only One Copy - check your order

Mortgage Connect goes for the notary who takes less. Getting the local assignments from them has been tough because someone nearby is taking super low fees that I just won’t.

Now I am seeing orders that require only ONE copy of documents be printed because the signer received their copy digitally. YAY.

The benefit is savings on printing but the signer has also had plenty of time to review their paperwork.

I hope they start doing that as a rule.

Mailed the docs to the signers? That’s a throwback to the 1990’s except in my state the signer must get a printed copy. Signers were told by Title to sign all the docs except the notarized ones then hire a mobile notary. I was typically paid cash.

No the signer copy was emailed so the notary is only required to print one copy. They aren’t required to print it.

Is this a ploy so they can justify not paying us as much??? Because it does not work that way, it is still our time and travel for our professional services. When I see those offers come in “its only 20 pages or something” and have that low ball offer, I counter offer and say “ it does not matter how less of the pages are, this is my time and travel regardless if it is 10 or 150 pages document!

I simply quote a fee and avoid being confrontational about it. When I get packages over 200 pages, I will send an email and ask for additional printing fees. There’s an escrow officer now with Mortgage Connect who always sends orders saying only one copy of or the order has to be printed, but I don’t change the original quote based on that I do know there has been less flexibility for additional fees because too many Notaries are rushing to accept assignments and then turning around and asking for additional fees because instead of countering an offer they’re just accepting it to get the work and then they’re trying to negotiate a higher fee and that’s hurting all of us I do think that is related to the only print one copy orders that I’m seeing now because those are coming from Esco officers who say we will not negotiate after you accept this assignment. It’s like poker a card laid is a card played. You don’t get overs after you accept a job.
